Our Mission
Scale-up clean, new fuel technologies throughout emerging markets to deliver sustainable socio-economic development.
Our Vision
Protect communities and natural ecosystems from damage caused by greenhouse gas emissions, and provide underserved communities with alternative clean fuels, enhancing health, conserving biodiversity, and mitigating climate change by reducing forest loss and restoring productivity to degraded, deforested lands.
About Us
Moto is a pioneer supplier of clean LPG, Bio LPG, and Bio Ethanol fuel in emerging markets. Our first Bio LPG offering in Sub-Sahara Africa is made from Cactus grown and processed into energy at a farm in Bloemfontein in South Africa by Barran Energy under exclusive offtake. Cooking and Heating fuels used across sub-Saharan Africa are a double engine of global warming.
More than 900 million households in Africa use Biofuel for cooking, resulting in 500 000 deaths from smoke and pollution. Tropical forests and savanna woodlands are hacked down to supply charcoal and firewood, removing an invaluable carbon sink.
The global energy crisis is causing traditional energy shortages. As a result, the adoption of alternatives is causing choking smoke from millions of cooking fires, released into planet-warming pollution alongside carbon monoxide that sickens millions of Africans.
Improving the distribution of cleaner fuels and mapping out customers’ data in remote areas can save tons of carbon dioxide annually. LPG scale-up has been successful in Indonesia and India, with 2.5 billion users.
Moto’s network of distribution points mapped out GPS from client’s data profiles will be the catalyst for other renewable feedstock widely available in Africa to be the prime feed of LPG. We, therefore, seek to create the e-commerce infrastructure needed to make all cooking clean by 2050.
The future of clean LGP Exchange

Sustainable
Moto has developed a sustainable business model with potential to supply 50% of all cooking and heating energy in emerging markets through affordable clean fuel achieving multiple ESG development goals.

Accessible
Moto is a distribution technology business model. We are in the process of deploying dense networks of distribution points in local townships and growth points.
.

Novelty
Our first consumer solution was a biogas cooking and heating fuel, which delivers significant cost savings and health benefits compared to petroleum, liquid gas and charcoal.
Quick Summary
The Moto Distribution Platform addresses the challenge of distributing LPG and other Green LPG to local townships and growth points in sub-Saharan Africa.
Moto’s target customers and how we will reach them
Our customers include households, schools, fast food restaurants, and hotels in sub-Saharan African countries. Our focus has mainly been existing users of LPG due to existing demand outstripping supply with households being early adopters of the technology, as they form the majority of regional gas users and present the largest market share. The minimal need for infrastructure allows us to work and continually improve the platform. In South Africa alone, we are targeting approximately 900,000 households who use gas for heating and cooking, representing 5% of the population. South Africa has the highest penetration rate of mobile technology in townships and rural areas, a prime candidate for a scoping study.
